NDT Technician 
Job Purpose:
To assist the Forge Supervisor to maintain the smooth running of the NDT Inspection area
Job Details:
Full time, temporary
Duties and responsibilities:
• Visual inspection of forgings throughout production and prior to despatch
• Magnetic Particle Inspection of forgings during the production process including the dressing of defects and re-inspection of parts
• Complete periodic checks of the Magnetic Particle inspection equipment to maintain correct operation and the recording of results
• Changing of consumables used within the Magnetic Particle inspection process
• Brinell Hardness Testing of parts during the production process and the recording of results
• Report any defects to the Quality Department and Forge Supervisor
• Escalate non-conformances to management using the database
• Maintain QA system documentation
• Maintain good housekeeping practices
• Matian 6S standards
• Comply with the Company’s integrated management system requirements
Essential job related skills and knowledge:
• Ability to read drawings
• Good attention to detail
• Qualified to PCN Level 2 in Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)
• Qualified to PCN Level 2 in Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI)
• Experience in Brinell Hardness Testing
• Ability to use measuring equipment including digital height gauge, callipers, tape measures and various other gauges.
Desirable job related skills and knowledge:
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment
• Qualified to PCN Level 2 Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
• Knowledge in MS Packages e.g. Word, Excel and Outlook
• FLT Licence
• Continuous improvement ways of working – 6S / ‘Lean’ methodology
• Slinging licence – ability to use an overhead crane
Desirable job related skills and knowledge:
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment

Working Hours:
Monday – Thursday 7am – 4.45pm
