Solidworks Development Engineer
Job Purpose:
Put in measures so that the Solidworks development requirements are completed from specification to manufacture and to provide first class
technical and product support to the customer base.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Oversee the development cycle from specification to manufacture
- Facilitate the transition from concept to product, develop the manufacturing process, tool and die design
- Implement ‘lean’ techniques
- Innovate solutions
- Understand customer design criteria, specification and standards along with costing and the commercial aspects of providing solutions
- Flexible approach to hours
Working hours
Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 4.30pm
Friday 8.30am – 4pm with the option of finishing earlier if you opt into the variable working hours scheme
Essential skills
- Mechanical Engineering Degree, ideally MEng 2:1 or equivalent
- Experience of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) preferably within Solidworks or equivalent
- Industrial/Manufacturing experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Report writing skills
- Good organising, planning and problem solving skills
- Experience in production, design, quality systems, product development inc mechanical design
- Experience interacting with customers
- Good attention to detail
