Sheet Metal Department – General Assistant
This is initially a temporary position for 3 months with the possibility of becoming permanent depending on the needs of the business.

Henry Williams is an engineering company based in Darlington. We supply goods to the road and rail sectors and have been around for over 130 years.
The Role
The main responsibility is to carry out general assistance work in the Sheet Metal Fabrication Department.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
Carry out general assistance duties in the Sheet Metal Department, Spray and Assembly Area
Duties will include cutting, punching, grinding, forming, operating robot, dressing and assembly.
You will be required to use band saws, pillar drills and grinding and dressing equipment
Assist with unloading the paint line conveyor assembly units, cleaning and moving the components and materials
Use the Company’s ERP system for effective time recording and materials management of tasks being carried out.
Carry out any other duties within the department as required within your skill set
It’s essential that you have:-
Proven experience of working with power tools
Good communication skills
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Be a good team player
Desirable features:-
Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
Sheet meal working experience
Ability to read engineering drawings
Experience of working with ERP systems
Working knowledge of lean methodology (6S)
Working Hours – full time 37 hours per week
Monday – Thursday 7am – 4.45pm
Paid break at 10am
Lunch break – 30 minutes
