The Company

Henry Williams is a successful privately owned company.  The company has a long standing record of developing, producing and manufacturing electrical and mechanical solutions.  They have specialist know-how in three key business areas: Metalworking, control systems and power distribution.  The company has over 130 employees, and operates from its multi-purpose manufacturing site in Darlington.

The Role

Plan and manage the day-to-day activities within the store function.  Internal and external customer and supplier liaison.  Control and upkeep of stock, stores and laydown areas.

Duties:

  • Plan and manage the smooth and efficient running of the Stores.
  • Assign tasks in conjunction with the Production Support General Assistant:-
  • Kitting up for FF and EP. Allocate issues correctly
  • Entering delivery notes to Jobshop
  • Unplanned issues – PPE Tools and maintenance
  • Perpetual Inventory (cycle counting)
  • 5S, including dated stock old stock, housekeeping and stores improvements
  • Liaising with Procurement about incorrect deliveries
  • Maintain orderliness and upkeep of main stores areas
  • Goods Inwards  – checking off deliveries including subcontract deliveries, locating received items
  • Management of the telephone gate entry and deliveries at the hatch
  • Goods in location
  • Liaising with QA inspection and put in place measures so that real time management / movement of stock is achieved
  • Liaising with Procurement about incorrect deliveries
  • Kanban replenishment
  • Receiving items ready to be despatched, final despatch loading
  • Maintain orderliness and upkeep of laydown areas

The Successful Candidate

Will have a current FLT counter balance licence, previous stores/inventory management experience.  You will also be a computer literate and a good communicator, you will also be a team player with a highly flexible and can do approach.

Working Hours

  • 37 hour week.  Monday – Friday
  • 30 minute lunch break
