Forge Operative Grade 3 – Temporary
The Company
Henry Williams Ltd is an engineering company based in Darlington. We supply goods to the road and rail sectors and have been around for over 130 years.
The Role
You will support the hammer crew in the safe and efficient production of forgings, ensuring quality, productivity and delivery targets are achieved.
This role is temporary initially – becoming permanent for the right candidate.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
Grinding
Working on forge hammers
Working on upsetters
Hot furnace work
Working with power presses
Packing
Any other duties required within the department
Successful Candidate
Essentially you will have:-
Experience of working within a manufacturing environment using heavy machinery
Competent to use hand tools or hand powered tools
Ability to effectively communicate to your team
Knowledge of health and safety requirements
Desirable job related skills:-
Experience of working with power presses
Experience of working with Lean Management
FLT driving
Working Hours – 37 hours per week
Monday – Thursday 7am – 4.45pm
