The Role – Fabrication Production Administrator

This is a full-time role. The main responsibilities are to organise the workflow internal and external, in the Fabrication Department as well as communicating throughout the department to maximise efficiency and completion of finished goods in line with delivery promises.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Raise works orders to ensure production requirements meet sales’ demand
  • Develop production plans and work-to-lists, prioritise in conjunction with the Team Leader
  • In conjunction with the Team Leader, devise labour plans to deliver production schedule
  • Communicate work lists and labour plans to shop floor staff
  • Prepare document packs in advance of works order commencement comprising of works order documentation and any relevant drawings
  • Check availability of materials in advance of commencement of production
  • Maintain information on the ERP system, including collected data, WIP booking analysis and works order completion
  • Communicate with production staff to keep abreast of production status
  • Organise and expedite sub-contract processes to meet delivery requirements
  • Liaise with Quality Assurance Department to arrange inspections prior to packing / despatch
  • Assist in inventory control; organise stock counts, investigate variances and correct as necessary
  • Initiate and maintain production board in Fabrication area
  • Maintain adequate levels of consumable items in the Fabrication area
  • Assist with sundry KPI/stocktake duties as required, including auditing

Essentially, the successful candidate will have

  • Good customer focus both internally and externally
  • Knowledge of sales and purchasing processes
  • Good communication skills
  • Good Microsoft package skills, particularly Excel
  • Good team player
  • Ability to work on own initiative

Additional but not essential skills:

  • Manufacturing administration background
  • Working knowledge of lean methodology (6S)
  • Experience of working with ERP systems

Working Hours

Monday – Thursday 7am – 4.45pm (37 hour week)

Overtime is available in accordance with business needs
